While Fringe by the Sea is quite rightly well down the list of everyone’s priorities for the coming days and weeks, we want to assure everyone who has helped make the event such a huge success – especially our visitors – that we are currently continuing to work on August’s event with optimism and enthusiasm.
Of course, public health and safety is the primary concern of our event, as it should be any event. We are following the guidance from both the Scottish and UK Governments closely and will be taking decisions accordingly. We ask that everyone plays their part in following directives from the authorities so that the impact of Coronavirus outbreak is lessened as much as possible.
We have nearly five months before our festival kicks off. In the meantime, we will continue to develop the programme, giving encouragement and anticipation of the return to more normal times. From artist to ticket-buyer, volunteer to freelance contractor, sponsor to trader and community group to our team, there has been a huge collective effort to make Fringe by the Sea what it is – a much loved community festival that all of East Lothian can be proud of. We are sure we’ll see this same community spirit shine through as we tackle the wider challenges immediately ahead.
With best wishes to you all from the Fringe by the Sea Team.
